  • Bad Day
the back of my truck I managed to get enough signal to send him a text He picked me up and we went off to inspect the crops the beetle damaged patches had not got any bigger and most of the plants were there although badly chewed and defoliated so we made the decision not to redrill with the view it would damage too many of the surviving seedlings In my opinion damage needs to be quite severe with few surviving plants to redrill as if most seedlings are still there without damage to the growing point they will usually recover I returned to my truck to face the task of changing the wheel which didn t turn out to be that straight forward The handle to wind down the spare wheel had a splayed end and wouldn t fit properly so couldn t get the spare off bugger Luckily my client had not got far away and had a handle in his truck that fitted this was a stronger one piece rod and not something out of a meccano set like mine I can see why some people struggle to change a wheel with the equipment supplied with vehicles it s next to useless Wheel changed I then had to head to town to get tyre sorted my day now 2 hrs behind plan Well today is FRIDAY 13th Lets hope it s better Gary Trackbacks 0 Permalink Previous Next Recent Posts Could be alot worse off Daffodil day Local Talent McDonalds new burger the McCaw Latest News Office Extension Underway New Dairy Farming Technology Milk must have a future Liquid Ammonium Sulphate Winters not over yet Humour from Molloyag Tags Competitions Competitions 1 Archive October 2015 1 August 2015 4 July 2015 4 June 2015 5 May 2015

  • Trying Autumn
at drilling meant the pre em herbicides didn t work well causing major Blackgrass issues Particularly land with a Blackgrass history that shouldn t be drilled early as this alone makes control difficult if the conditions are not favourable Some infestations are too bad to control so the crops have been sprayed off to start again Lets hope the seed mishap that happened locally doesn t bring about a Blackgrass incursion and another problem for Agronomists to deal with Who said farming was easy Gary Trackbacks 0 Permalink Previous Next Recent Posts Could be alot worse off Daffodil day Local Talent McDonalds new burger the McCaw Latest News Office Extension Underway New Dairy Farming Technology Milk must have a future Liquid Ammonium Sulphate Winters not over yet Humour from Molloyag Tags Competitions Competitions 1 Archive October 2015 1 August 2015 4 July 2015 4 June 2015 5 May 2015 6 Agri Comments Best Advice Welcome to Agri Comments where we regularly profile one of our customers every few months This time around we meet Clibborn farms More here Archive Hamish and Vicki Mee More here Pip and Dean Pye More here Agri View Our Blog Could be alot worse off
